The game’s going to be a “haunted house” story or murder mystery, drakonous says. Ideal for this sort of thing, and it will help me know how to pick my skills.

I finished The Moonstone at last. And it was a damn good novel. Now I have to find some historical book for the 19th century before I go to Decatur house.
I'm sort of tired and getting a headache, but I'm also hyper and it's really hot so I can't sleep. I don't want to open the window, because when I did that after I first came here and it was still summer weather, it made my skin itchy. I'll have to go to bed some time, though. Glad I don't have class tomorrow.
I also signed up to monitor officialgaiman. One of the great things about him is that when he's not writing books, the fans can still read his journal. Although of course you can't leave comments that he'll actually see. Oh well.
And now the stupid things. First, I told drakonous that I planned to invite
plus_c to my birthday party (
scifantasy introduced me to him about a year ago, and he is responsible for getting me hooked on DDR). I said I'd check if he was still around. Only this morning did I remember that I'd read his LiveJournal post saying that he'd gone home. *headdesk* I contemplated posting this to
mock_the_stupid as a self-mock, but it's not really funny, it's just a brain short-out, and Lord knows I get those a lot.
The second thing has to do with the Simon Archard Mage stats I posted earlier. I realized that Simon would have to have one sphere in Time and one in Connection. He said himself that he's always very aware of Time, and Emma remarked that he'd never going to a place without knowing its exact longitude and latitude. Oh, and when he was travelling through caves under Partington, he knew exactly which cardinal direction he was going in, and how many degrees he deviated from it at any time. One in Connection it is. I suppose I shouldn't give him Forces and Matter - he'll just have one Prime, and three Mind. Good Mind abilities should cover what he doesn't have in Charisma and Manipulation.
I think this holds the record so far for "Most Geeked-Out Post I've Ever Written," but then again I haven't had a LiveJournal for very long. I'm sure I'll write something geekier in the future.
I returned The Moonstone to the college library. I was planning to take out a book on Stephen Decatur or the 1812 war, but since they're closing up for the end of the semester and they're basically having everyone put their returned books on a big shelf to sort through later, I didn't think it was a good time. I can get a book for that when I'm home.
Something else - apparently Ubisoft is working on a sequel to Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. SoT, as some of you may know, revived the Prince of Persia series after it was just about killed off by the horrible, disappointing Prince of Persia 3D. They had enough of SoT2 coded to host a demo of it at E3, and the reviews so far are good - though I'm going to try not to get my hopes up until the completed game is actually out. What I heard of the sequel to Deus Ex was such a letdown that I want to be cautious now.
