I got the name of YT from Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. Back when I started this journal, I used the handle "YT" or "Miss YT" for a lot of message boards and fan sites I frequented at the time. I also roleplay as YT in Milliways Bar.

I graduated from Bryn Mawr College in May 2005 with a degree in anthropology. I earned my Master of Information Science from the University of Michigan in 2009, and I now work for a consulting company.

More things about me: I am originally from New Rochelle, New York by way of Potomac, Maryland (where my family still lives). I am the oldest child in my generation of the family, having two younger brothers and four first cousins. I own a Mac, I knit, and I play games on my Xbox. Also, I have two cats: Roo (a sable female) and Charlie (a male grey tabby). Charlie is large but Roo is in charge. :)

I'm active in the Livejournal roleplaying community milliways_bar, where I roleplay as YT (feminine_menace) from...well, guess where, Mouse (l33t_mouse) from ReBoot, Zhaan (azure_mercy) from Farscape, Abe no Seimei (yinyangwizard of Japanese legend, Ed (shoeless_ed) and Ein (2woolongdatadog) from Cowboy Bebop, and Commander Shepard (paragonsoldier) and Tali'Zorah nar Rayya (stargypsy) from Mass Effect.

If you play on the Discworld MUD, you can sometimes spot me there as Priscilla, wizard of Mrs. Widgery's Lodgers.
