Remarks on Various Things and Events

First I have to say, after having watched the entire series, that the creators of the anime Big O (yes, that's the title, go ahead and snicker) either read Berkleyan philosophy, or were seriously screwed up. Or both.
Now for some real-world stuff. Today I wanted to start going to this local gym, because I need to have a real exercise regimen of some kind. But as I was crossing 2nd Street, running because I had a yellow light, I tripped over a crack in the pavement and fell. I skinned my right elbow (and hit the funny bone too, ouch!), and I seem to have fallen funny on my left leg. If I put too much weight on it or move too fast, it really hurts, as I discovered when I tried to continue on my way. I turned around, feeling like an idiot. And, on the island in the middle of 2nd street, I discovered the remains of my evil-eye charm bracelet (the blue one with crystals - if you know me IRL, you've seen me wearing it). It had broken in the fall and come apart as I was walking over the island or something. I managed to collect all but two (I think) of the beads.
Well, with this proverbial lemon I shall make the equally proverbial lemonade. There's a store called Beadworks nearby where I can get a new thread for the bracelet, and some kind of nice big bead to use as a central piece and make up for the missing bits. The remaining beads from the bracelet are too pretty to just throw away.
I hope my leg is better tomorrow so I can bike to my knitting circle. And on Thursday I'm going to try going to the gym again, without tripping over any cracks this time. If my leg isn't broken or something.

Date: 2005-11-20 06:04 am (UTC)I have been watching what I eat a bit more, though, and that's an accomplishment.
Thanks for asking after me, by the way.
