Brrrr.....

This being December and the Northeast, it's been really cold the past few nights. And since we don't use heat in the apartment and the windows aren't all that well-insulated, it's almost as cold in here as it is outside. It turns out that I don't have sufficient blankets, either - the fuzzy one I got and the original comfoter (which is not a down comforter, by the way) are barely adequate. I've decided that the only way I can really keep warm at night is to wear my fuzzy bathrobe to bed.

Since I don't want to keep doing that, though (and I'm worried that it may not be enough), I ordered an electric blanket on eBay. Even including shipping, it cost a lot less than the ones I've seen in stores around here. I think Roo will appreciate it too.

And, while being this cold is awful, I'm grateful that I at least have a roof over my head and can sleep inside. This experience will also give me an excuse to give the following response to my mom when she complains about it being cold in the house: "Cold? Bah! This is not cold. Back in old country of Philadelphia we had no heat and windows were drafty..." and so on and so forth, in an appropriate parody of a Russian accent.
