Kitten Update

Okay - the kitten is a boy (thanks to alashiya for telling me how to sex a kitten) and I have named him Roo. He will drink formula but won't eat kitten food. Fortunately he is not averse to lapping up the formula from a dish, which means I may not have to bottle-feed him every time he's hungry, although I have been bottle-feeding him too. I figured out I have to feed him every four hours. As my dad said, I'm going to learn the joy of having a newborn in the house. :P

Roo's eye problem seems to be nothing more than pinkeye. I got most of the crust off, so he doesn't look like his left eye was gouged out or something (which is what I thought when I first saw him).

I have taken some pictures of Roo which I plan to post later. There isn't really anything in the pictures that one can use for size comparisons, but I can tell you that he is so small that I can easily scoop him up in one hand. So kyoooooot!

Another Kitten Update

Roo is doing fine. I've been feeding him every four hours. I also have to give him water from a bottle, because he won't drink it from a dish, it seems. I don't know how much to give him so I'm trying half a bottle per feeding. I'll have to ask the vet about it.

Since I've been wiping the gunk from his eye, his pinkeye seems to be getting better, but he still needs antibiotics.

He's on the couch with me as I'm writing this and keeps climbing up on the keyboard in a very cat way.

EDIT: Roo has lost couch privileges until he is litter-trained. However, he is also very determined and will climb up on the couch in any way he can. Sigh.

Roo Pics At Last!

I took some pictures of Roo, the kitten, and put them in a Photobucket album. It's hard to get a shot of him facing me because he moves around a lot when he's awake and the camera doesn't take instant pictures. I tried my best.
