The Dingling Devil Machine
Aug. 18th, 2005 10:32 pmAt work we rotate the duty of answering the phone on a weekly basis. This is my week to do phone duty. Here's a fun fact: telemarketers who call you at home may be annoying, but they're nothing compared to the ones that call businesses. By now I dread the ringing of the phone and it grates on my nerves like nails down a chalkboard. Of course, it always did at home, too. I must have phone-phobia. I have taken to referring to the phone as the Dingling Devil Machine.
On the plus side, I got my digital camera this week. I haven't tried it out yet, but I will have ample opporunity to do so on the other plus side: my brother Daniel is coming to visit tomorrow. He's back from working as an assistant counselor at Camp Scatico. Although it is usually difficult to prod him into going on any major undertaking (such as a visit), he required very little encouragement after I reminded him that time he spends here is time away from Mom. We'll have a lot to catch up on, since he will have all this stuff to tell me about the antics of the kids he was taking care of and I will have stuff to tell him about my first summer out on my own. I wonder what he'll think of my knitting - the fact that I'm even knitting at all more than my actual work. I hope
colorwhirl will like him. I've found out that her tastes are all but impossible to predict.
