My day, backwards.
I borrowed the last DVD in the Firefly set from a friend of mine and watched it. One guy in Doublestar said the planned movie might catapult the series back on TV. While I hope he's right, I mostly doubt it.
Watched Moonchild in Doublestar. It's a Japanese vampire gangster movie. Or gangster vampire movie. Don't ask.
Read an essay by Montaigne for class. The man was a bona fide cultural relativist - and he lived in the 16th century! Wish I could have met him.
I went to the Philadelphia Convention Center for a job fair which turned out to be very small and with not a lot of things I was interested in. I picked up a hiring brochure from one place and a flyer about affordable medical insurance from another (I think I'm no longer covered by my parents' plan after I hit 25). One kiosk set up there belonged to two distributors for Nikkei, a Japanese company that sells alternative wellness products. They had a nice water filter and did some neat demonstrations with magnetic things. I think I should tell Mom. Maybe she can get one of their magnetic headbands or something and she won't get headaches anymore. One can also become a part-time distributor for them, which I'm not planning to do now but might check out at some point after I graduate.
Anyway, I plan to do most of the job searching next spring, when I'll only have to take three courses. I really hope to get into the JET program. If I don't, I want to have a backup in Philly. The whole job search business is making me nervous. Well, if I don't find anything I could go home for a while, but then I'd feel like a bum and of course I'd be stuck with my family. Less of that would be good.
G'night folks...
