I dropped my watch and the back popped off and now I can't get it back on, so I can't wear the watch.  What's wrong with me this week?!

Well, I managed to do something competent today too.  I finished my oral history essay - the one I interviewed my grandfather for over fall break.  It didn't take as long as I thought, though I think I might have to change something because there was a discrepancy between something he told me and one of the other sources I read.  I left a message for him to call me back.

Tomorrow I need to go to the Career Office and find out about the Philadelphia Recruiting Day and the winter break externship program.  Some other things I have to do in the near future include finding some articles on JStor and other scholarly databases that pertain to my thesis and trimming down my long list of possible books to the most useful ones so I can read them and write a literature review.  I also need to call the places I want to do reasearch in, and talk to [livejournal.com profile] ironroot about getting in touch with his sister, who can help me with this project.

The fact that I'm not having long-term, low-grade anxiety attacks over all this work still surprises me.  I keep waiting for them to start.  Not that I really want one, but since they decrease my appetite having one would at least help me lose weight...:P

The Mage game yesterday was great fun, even if I did get two Paradox points.  At least I managed to do a lot of cool stuff.  I also got enough experience to raise my Mind level to 3, and advance my Expression talent.  Now I can make even prettier arts and crafts for Spirit fetishes!

We had some guests going in and out last night, among them [livejournal.com profile] ironroot, who will be introducing a character into our game at the next session.  Not only did he drive me back to campus after the game, he gave me oodles of Cowboy Bebop MP3s.  Sw33t!

One question for you all: how pathetic is it that I can get buzzed from a 16-oz bottle of light beer?  I hadn't drunk or eaten anything for some hours before, but still...

I also got the package I ordered from Bas Bleu, and gave my friend Martine a copy of An Assembly Such As This, the first book in the Fizwilliam Darcy, Gentleman trilogy.  It's pretty good so far.  I wonder if the other two books have been published yet.

Speaking of that, I finally reserved a room for the Pride & Prejudice party I'm hosting.  The time conflicts with Doublestar movie night, but I'm sure our Fearless Leader (club president) will understand.  I'm going to order some stuff from campus catering (which is really the only way I can be allowed to have food in that particular room).  The prices are pretty reasonable.  The shopping list I have now is probably way too much, so I'm waiting for Martine, who will co-host the party, to help me decide what's actually reasonable and add up the price.

This weekend I really have to work on finding scholarly articles for my thesis.  I have lots of books - I will have to take some off my list - but I need to look at articles too.  The literature review is due in a couple of weeks.  I've already done a good amount of work on other stuff today, so I'm taking a break before I get to that.

Since kickboxing class is over, I should go to the gym and make my own workout.  I'll see if they have "workout cards" that I can chart stuff on.

I wonder when my nice new chair is going to get here...
