Grandma told me that my aunt Liz - whose old bedroom I now sleep in whenever I stay over - used to knit back in the '70s. I went through the toy chest in the room and found a bag of yarn, several pairs of metal knitting needles, and a pattern set for a matching cardigan, hat and socks. Woo!
The thing is, the needles are sized oddly. The ones marked "6" are actually size 8, while the ones marked "8" are 6, and the "12" needles are very small. I wonder if needles were sized differently during the '70's?
