Well, although I had a really crappy start to the day and a crappy day at work (tweaking assignments I'd already mostly finished, because our clients did not provide us with certain information earlier on), I am happy now. The beginning of Philcon was good. I saw a lot of friends from Bryn Mawr, played some classic Munchkin, and had a lovely ego moment. What was that, you ask? Well, I was attending a panel on internet security,1 during which I learned a lot about spam and botnets. One of the panelists was trying to explain the mechanisms of the Internet: he asked, "Do any of you know how the internet works?"

And I called out, "It's a series of tubes!" Heh.

I have already marked off the events I want to attend tomorrow and on Sunday in my program book, so I won't be standing around wondering what to go to. Although the schedule is subject to change, of course. I also plan to wear my costume tomorrow.

Oh, and I'm not mad at my roomate anymore. She leant her boyfriend her keys and he didn't give them back to her before he returned to New York: he did leave them under our doormat, but she couldn't get to them, so she was stuck outside for a while. It's hard to be mad at her after that. Also, she's cleaning the plaster in the bathroom.

Now, the debate is...should I go to bed at this (comparatively) reasonable hour, although I seem to be on a caffeine high, or play Okami until I'm sleepy and wake up late and skip exercising?

Eh, well, one vice deserves another I guess. Okami it is!

1I learned that Macs actually run on a Unix base, so I won't have to install Linux on them to get many of the benefits thereof, although I might do it anyway. We'll see. Unfortunately, I also learned that Parallels is not always a good alternative to Boot Camp when it comes to PC games, because those games that support an online multiplayer mode are programmed to shut down if they detect you using cheating software. And Parallels apparently looks to these games like cheating software.
