Good News: Philcon starts Friday! And I will also be able to finish my socks, plus a small project with the leftover yarn, while I'm there.
Bad News: Next Wednesday I am flying to Florida for Thanksgiving with Mom's family. I have a knitting project planned but not a decent one (and I can't afford to buy yarn right now for anything else). Also, I will probably have to bring everything in a carry-on, because I'm flying USAir and they tend to lose a lot of people's checked baggage.
Other News: Since my new gym membership at Sweat includes two free sessions with a personal trainer, I've decided to use them to make up a good daily workout. I had my first session yesterday and will have another tomorrow. And I can tell you, my trainer (Alex) has me doing a workout that will kick my ass, although since it also includes some intense stretching (which, at the time I do it, kicks my ass), it leaves me a lot less sore than I anticipated. He says I'm way too tight in my hip flexors and quadriceps - that's the big thigh muscles - and he really seemed concerned about it, so I have to work on that.
Alex also scolded me for eating microwave food, even if it's like Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine. He says I need to cook, eat more fruits and vegetables, and not eat rice. I guess I should be cooking more, although because of my budget I can't go shopping again until after Thanksgiving. But I have some ideas about what to get. I need a vegetable steamer so I can cook broccoli and green beans and brussels sprouts. Yes, I actually like the dreaded brussels sprouts. But don't suggest spinach, spinach and I don't get along well.
