Wheee! And bleah!
Oct. 30th, 2006 09:30 amI finally beat Psychonauts. Yay! However, I don't think the ending wrapped up everything in a satisfactory way - not quite. But it seemed like they were setting up for a sequel. I hope so. Now I'm playing Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. I seem to have some trouble getting used to the PS2 controller, because even though I've played the Sly games before, I kept trying to use the controller as if I were still playing Psychonauts.1
Also, I am getting back to work on grad school applications. I discovered that the University of Pittsburgh wants a 500-word essay about my career plans. I feel upset about this because I painstakingly crafted a very good 750-word essay (all of which, not including the last paragraph, is the same for every school) and I have to cut it down. I also have to send all the schools GRE scores and transcripts, which will be a hassle. Fortunately my dad is letting me charge the application fees and such to his credit card.
I have another thing to worry about - I forgot my shawl (one that I knitted over the summer) on my way back from my boss's Halloween party on Saturday. I thought I left it with the coats, but he said this morning that he didn't find it, which may mean that I lost it walking back home. It was rather windy that night and I'd had a few drinks, so that's quite likely. If it's lost I am going to be very upset with myself, because the materials cost 45 dollars, it was a bitch to knit (cotton yarn, you know) and I've only worn it once. Feh.
1As in, I kept forgetting that Sly Cooper can't levitate. He can do a similar "float" move later in the game, and I was trying to do that too, but he does not have that ability yet.
