Shiny new things!

My laptop's CD-ROM drive was on its last legs (strained to read discs, couldn't play DVDs anymore), so I got a new one from Dell. It finally arrived today - I tested it and it works just fine. Yay! Now I can play DVDs on my computer again!

I also got a replacement set of Batman: The Animated Series DVDs. When I first got them I had to send them back[1] because one of the season sets was missing a disc. Now I have all the right discs so I can see the episodes I didn't catch last time.

And, of course, I am expecting to get other packages for my birthday any day now...

Hmm, okay...

I just watched Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut. It's a very cool, creepy/fascinating/WTF movie, but I think I understood it. I think. So I'm watching it on the commentary track to see if I was right. So far, I think I'm on the money, but it's hard to tell with a movie like this.
