Knitting Knews
Apr. 10th, 2006 06:42 pmI'm currently blocking squares for my grandmother's afghan, and now I really wish I'd done a solid, contiguous pattern instead. I don't know how I'm going to get these things to match up, and I can only block a few at a time. Well, at least the first batch turned out pretty well. They may not be quite uniform in size - some fudging will be involved when I sew them together - but at least they're nice and square and not all bunched up. Tomorrow, after I get more black yarn, I will start sewing them together. I have another project to do while I'm home for Passover, because Grandma will be there and I want the afghan to be a surprise. I hope I can finish it in time....
Speaking of my other project, I've just completed my first Jayne hat! It will make a good belated birthday present for
shinyhappygoth. I'll be making another to keep in reserve for my brother Daniel's birthday at the end of the summer.
