(Almost) ready to go...

Crap, why'd it get so warm all of the sudden just as I'm about to leave? It's Christmas Eve day, but outside it's like spring.

With Cory's help, I took Roo and her stuff to a co-worker's house today, where she will stay over vacation. She was not happy about going in the carrier and seemed rather bewildered by her new surroundings. My co-worker also has a kitten, younger than Roo. One friend of mine who has several cats told me that kittens tend to get along well with other kittens, but when Roo met her host's cat she got all hissy. She would probably have been friendlier in her own familiar environment. The other kitten seems curious about her, though. Since Roo didn't try to scratch the other kitten when he got up close, I think she'll just need time to settle in a bit, and then she'll be more sociable.

After dropping her off, I went out, did some quick errands, had lunch and came back. Even though I knew Roo was gone, I still expected her to run out the apartment door when I got home, the way she usually does, and it feels sort of odd not having her around. She'd be walking around on my desk right now...

I guess I should pack, and then maybe work more on my little brother's scarf. Since Roo's not here to play with it, this would be a good time.
