Significant Events
Dec. 23rd, 2004 11:47 amOkay, I'm going to talk about the significant events that have taken place since I got home. All the ones I can remember, anyway. And not in any particular order.
I got Going Postal, the latest Discworld book, which has given me two possible ideas to propose to the Creators on the Discworld MUD. One is that they should make a quest involving a clacks tower in Uberwald (if you don't understand this, it's because you aren't a Discworld fan). The other is "soul commands" based on major characters, such as Vimes, Vetinari, and Rincewind.
My brother Daniel is home. We're going out to see a movie tomorrow, probably Team America, which I haven't seen yet. He really liked the gift I gave him - Jon Stewart's America: The Book . We're plotting to visit New York together in January to get away from the rest of the immediate family.
I got the Bryn Mawr class ring I ordered. It fits perfectly and it looks quite nice. Yay!
Benjamin got this game called Sly 2: Band of Thieves which I have been playing far too much. A hardcore gamer would probably wibble about the unrealistic physics and simple AI, but then again, it's meant to be a kids' game. It does have some great humor, however, and makes references to all kinds of movies and genres. It's linear but not too linear, the learning curve is just right, and the gameplay goes into all kinds of modes. It's great fun!
Oh, and my cellphone broke, so I'll be getting a new one soon. Dad spent a ridiculous amount of time on hold with AT&T the other day (they provide the cellphone service I currently have) and couldn't get any satisfactory help when his call was answered, so he's planning to put me on his Verizon account instead. Far as I know, they have a better track record with mobile phones anyway.
The vacation is okay so far, although my family may drive me crazy long before I go home. Oh dear...
