Pride and Prejudice Tea
Nov. 5th, 2004 05:53 pmI hosted my Pride and Prejudice tea last night. I'd promised myself that I would host a tea (it's a Bryn Mawr thing, it basically means a little party) before I graduated, and that was it. Martine was my co-host. Unfortunately for us, a lot of people we'd been expecting didn't show up, and we got far fewer guests than I'd anticipated. Still, the people who came complimented me on my setup (I'd gotten food through campus catering, and spent a whole lot of money on it too). Those of us who were there had a good time. Martine and I took some of the food home with us.
Today I wrote a short literature review for my thesis (although it's not as short as it's supposed to be) and replied to a letter from the Bi-Co Academic Council. They wanted me to give a review of one of my professors. Thing is, he works in the French department, but I take his Comparative Literature class, and the letter reffered to his performance as a French teacher. I figured an endorsement of his skills as a comparative lit professor wouldn't hurt his chances of getting tenure. I hope he does, because he's an excellent teacher. (He's kind of cute, too).
Right now I'm in a cafe on the ground floor of
drakonous' building, waiting until I can go up for the Mage game. I was hoping to relax, but that might not work, because there are a pack of loud [expletive deleted]s sitting at the bar. I'll just put my headphones on.
