Roo's Birthday Present

Roo's actual (estimated) birthday isn't for almost two weeks, but I was so excited by the idea of getting her a present that I went out and bought one anyway. Since Roo lives to play not-fetch (that is, she likes it when I throw toys and she can run after them and pounce on them, but she won't bring them back), I decided to get her something called a "cat fisher." It's a miniature fishing pole with a mouse toy "lure" on the end. It can apparently cast up to 40 feet away, but I can't get that kind of distance in the apartment. I've tried it a few times and Roo seems to like it - she chases the lure and follows it when I reel it in. However, I'm going to hold off using it more for a while - Roo is panting again and I just turned on the air conditioning. I want her to cool down before she goes through strenuous exercise.
