Another dismally dull day at work. Not only am I still working on the Greek Grammar from Hell that I inherited from an employee who quit/was fired/asked to leave, but Aetna had issues with sending me my medicine (which I ordered by mail this time). Apparently, I needed my doctor to call in and confirm the perscription since I was getting a 90-day supply of a non-preferred drug. That little requirement was in the fine print somewhere. Anyway, I didn't have my meds, which made it worse.

But after work was good. I finished my first sock at knitting circle - it fits well and is very comfy. I wore it on my foot and paraded around Rosie's for a while. Also, while biking home, I saw some fireflies, which always make me happy.

And last night I went to a Philadelphia Against Santorum meeting, partly because I don't like the man myself and partly out of curiosity. Somehow I volunteered to go door-to-door on my block to remind people to vote (against Santorum) in the upcoming Senatorial race. Fortunately I can team up with a more experienced volunteer on my first run, and I already know that I will not be well-recieved everywhere. I also know that the Republican party has been doing this kind of thing for years, and it works, so there must be something to it. I may possibly make a difference, or at the very least bring home some amusing anecdotes.

I am pretty down on politics these days, but if I still lived in PA, I would be right there with you, because I hate Santorum SO MUCH. Seriously, when Arlen Specter is the "good" senator, there is something seriously wrong.

I did the door-to-door thing in 2004, and it was kind of a pain in the ass, but it was also interesting to see different parts of the city. And I will never forget the old ex-Republican Vietnam vet geezer who answered the door in his underwear and spent, like 15 minutes ranting about what a disgrace Bush was, while he filled out the voter registration form.

Avoid phone-banking. It is the boringest activity ever, and if you are anything like me, it will make you feel like a telemarketer.

How do the Democrat's chances look? If they have a reasonable chance of winning, maybe I'll give them some money, because I still hold a grudge againt Santorum for all the dumb shit he said while representing me.

I'm not a member of a political party, but I get the impression the Republicans do a much better job of organizing than the Democrats do. I guess that's why they usually win.
