Nervous nervous nervous!

I took Roo to the vet this morning - not my regular vet, who is about half a mile from me, but halfway across the city to a vet that honors special certificates for low-cost neutering. Yes, Roo is getting spayed today. She was very well-behaved on the walk and subway ride over. On the way back, she will probably be zonked from the anaesthetic.

Various people I've talked to who have their own cat say that getting them neutered is always scary, especially since they're a total wreck afterwards - but they always recover quickly. I'm nervous because I don't know what state Roo will be in this evening when I bring her home.

If for some reason you want to send her get-well messages, tell me and I will pass them on.

Angel growled at me when I went to pick her up, and on the way home. When I opened the carrier, she went under the bed and stayed there until I went to bed. But the next morning she was in bed with me and seemed normal until I tried to drop some antibiotics down her throat. She didn't like that but tolerated it. After a week she was completely back to normal and finished with antibiotics, happy, healthy, and it wasn't long before her belly fur grew back and covered up all traces of the surgery.

Send her a get-well from me and Angel.

Yeah, I'm afraid Roo will be mad at me when I take her home. And as it is, she bites (just for play, although she hasn't learned how much is too much yet), so she might do that too.

Get well soon, Roo!

Thanks! Roo was stoned when I brought her home, but she's better today, albeit still a bit wobbly and careful of her hind legs.
