Just Wondering

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera? I think I'd actually take pictures if I didn't have to fool around with actual film. I don't have a camera anyway so I might as well get one I'll actually use.

I'm looking for something that will store a lot of pictures and has a storage medium that can be easily plugged into a USB port. If it's cheap but not a total piece of crap, that's a bonus too.

Any suggestions?

I've had a lot of good luck with the Nikon Coolpix series. I see a Coolpix 4600 for $190 on Amazon right now, which isn't bad at all. It's a 4-megapixel camera, good enough for at least up to 4x6 prints (if that's the intent) and much more than adequate for Internet posting. The Coolpix series have the same basic camera body and lens, so comments about my camera should carry over. The lens is pretty good - it's got a 3x optical zoom on it, and Nikon's one of the better-known brands in digital camera-dom. Auto-focus works pretty well as well. My only complaints are that it's a bit slow between shots, especially when you use the flash, and that it's not all that great at night photography. Other than that, it's a great basic little camera that should suit your needs well. Any other questions, lemme know :-)
