I recently bought Final Fantasy Chronicles on Amazon, and it finally arrived yesterday. For those of you who don't know, Final Fantasy Chronicles includes two games, Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger, ported from their native SNES to the Playstation with new cutscenes and such. Now, Final Fantasy I can pretty much take or leave, but I really wanted Chrono Trigger.

Alas, I discovered, it could not save data on a PS2 memory card. I was pretty upset about this. Fortunately shinyhappygoth told me that I just needed to get a PS1 card, which I got at EB today. Crisis averted.

Oh, they were also taking preorders for God of War II, which comes out next month. I put one in and got a demo disc that I intend to try out later. According to the IGN review, GoW II will not disappoint: it's not a huge improvement on the original, but it would be hard to make something that good again, let alone better. I can't wait.

Two little warnings...first, don't expect a fortune of new material. A few anime-style cutscenes for CT, but really, that's about it. Then again, if you don't have a Super Nintendo, it's better (from a legal perspective, at least) than emulators...

Second, the porting process may be a bit choppy. They really didn't nail the procedure down until Final Fantasy Origins, which was, of course, the last one they did. So if you have issues...that's normal, I'm sorry to say.

Yeah, I know the Playstation Chrono Trigger doesn't have much more than cutscenes and new music and a few other baubles: also, the loading times are annoying. But it will be fun to see the cutscenes.

You're going to get so addicted. I love final fantas[ies] and Chronotrigger. I was really disappointed that chrono cross was no where near as good. :(

I've actually played Chrono Trigger before, which is why I drool so much over the PS2 version. ;)
