Oh noes!

The D&D game was pretty good this evening, though short. But as we were going out for dinner, [livejournal.com profile] arcessita slipped and fell down the stairs headfirst. We were really freaked out because she was bleeding, but she was just a little dizzy, she was still conscious and not at all disoriented, and she said it didn't hurt. [livejournal.com profile] scifantasy called 911, and until then we tried to make her as comfortable as possible at the bottom of the stairs, since we weren't supposed to move her. It would have been kind of funny, if we weren't so scared that she'd really hurt herself badly.

She was able to get up and walk when the EMTs came, and wasn't bleeding too much by then. [livejournal.com profile] ironroot went with her, and called us later, saying that according to the EMTs she just seemed to have a scalp wound but she may need some stitches. I hope that will be it.

[livejournal.com profile] arcessita and I are home now. She has staples in her head, which apparently work better than sutures for scalp wounds. Other than that, everything is fine.

Yep, I'm fine. Head wounds always bleed a lot, so it looked much worse than it was. I'm a little sore today, but otherwise everything's fine. I managed to go to church, get a new coat (I decided the blood on the collar was the last straw, and my old coat is now out to pasture), finish up my beta on a story, knit a fair amount on my sweater, and watch two brutal football games. One of my more productive days, actually. ;)

I feel worse for you all. I don't remember hitting the ground, but I know it's terrifying to watch somebody else get hurt.
