Can I say this?

I feel really ADHD today. Some of you may think that describing someone as "being ADHD" is like calling them retarded or a spaz, but I feel I can describe myself that way because I do have attention deficit problems, and I would rather say I am "feeling ADD" than say that my "ADD is acting up," as if it were gout or something.

And what, you may ask, does "being ADHD" feel like? Well, I am just having one of those days where I'm feeling really twitchy and impatient, and I'd like to go outside and walk 10 or 20 blocks, or finish knitting that sock I've been working on forever. But I can't, so I'm just frustrated and unable to focus. I know that sounds a lot like being restless, but it's not quite the same, because for most people, restlessness is not a default state and it's relatively easy to get over.

Yes, I did take my medicine this morning. It's not helping. Maybe taking a walk during my lunch hour will set me straight.

My 666 Celebration

To observe 666 day, I went out to a bar on South Street and asked the bartender what drink he thought might be appropriate for the occasion. He mixed me something he called a Red Devil and then a Devil in a Blue Dress, both of which I enjoyed. However, when the check came, I saw that the drinks were actually listed as a "Red Death" and a "Blue Hawaiian." This was somewhat disappointing - although I am not mad at the bartender, because I realize that he was just trying to play along. And, on the upside, if I want those drinks again I actually know their proper names.
